Meesho sells low-price fashion, home and everyday goods direct to consumers across India. Its referral looks like a standard first-order bounty and behaves nothing like one, because of when the reward is confirmed.

Meesho's referral has one condition that matters more than the amount, and it is not the one other sites emphasise. Your reward is credited to your Meesho Balance roughly seven days after your friend's first order is delivered — and only if that order is not returned.

On any platform that would be a footnote. On Meesho it is the whole story. Meesho's catalogue is built around very low price points in fashion and home goods, categories where returns are common and often expected. A referral you watched complete can quietly reverse itself a week later because your friend sent back a kurta that did not fit. The reward is not confirmed at checkout, not at dispatch, and not at delivery — it is confirmed once the return window has passed without a return.

The practical consequence is that referring someone works best when you point them at something they are unlikely to send back. It sounds trivial and it is the difference between being paid and not.

The reward itself is Meesho Balance. That is store credit, spendable on Meesho and not withdrawable to a bank account, so the value to you depends on whether you shop there anyway.

Two corrections to what is published elsewhere, including previously on this page. The new-user discount has run considerably higher than the 15% often quoted — campaigns at 40% off, capped in the region of ₹100, are common. And the friend must place their first ever order on Meesho for anything to qualify; if they signed up without your code, there is no way to attach it afterwards and no reward for their later activity.

Finally, a note on what Meesho is now. It began as a social reselling platform where people sold on to their own networks, and much of the writing about it online still describes that model. Today it operates primarily as a value-focused marketplace selling direct to consumers. If you are looking to earn from Meesho at scale rather than invite a friend, its affiliate and influencer programs are separate schemes with their own commission structures — not this one.
