Three details worth knowing before treating this as a simple $25 reward: it is credit rather than money, it is capped at four referrals a month, and the person you refer gets a percentage rather than an amount.

The reward is often summarised as "$25 per referral". Three details in the programme's own terms qualify that, and all three matter.

1. It is a referral credit, not cash. You receive "$25 referral credit" for each person who purchases a Weebly plan — credit applied against your own bill with the same company. That is a different instrument, worth pricing properly: a credit is worth its face value only if you were going to keep paying that company anyway. If you were planning to leave, downgrade, or move to a different platform, the credit is worth less than face value — and if you stop being a customer it is worth nothing. Cash does not have that property, which is why it ranks above credit wherever both appear in the same category.
2. The cap is $100 a month — which is four referrals. "$25 per referral" and "up to four referrals a month" are very different propositions, and the second is the real one.
3. Your friend gets a percentage, not an amount. They receive 10% off their first Weebly plan purchase. A percentage discount and a fixed credit are not comparable, and the arithmetic runs the opposite way to most offers on this site: 10% of a cheap plan is a very small sum. On a plan costing $10 a month billed annually, 10% off the first purchase is a few dollars. So the two sides of this deal are markedly uneven — you receive $25 of credit; they receive perhaps a tenth of that in value. Say so when you send the link, because they will discover it at checkout.

Ownership: Weebly was acquired by Square — the acquisition completed on 31 May 2018, for a reported $365 million — and Square renamed itself Block on 1 December 2021. That is not a criticism, and it explains the product's direction: Weebly's commerce features sit inside a payments company's ecosystem. It is worth knowing for one practical reason: if you are already using that company's payment products, you are dealing with one vendor rather than two — which is convenient, and also concentrates your dependency.

The questions that matter more than $25, which apply to every hosted website builder:

1. Can I export my site? The single most important question, and the one most often skipped. Hosted builders generally produce sites that are not portable to another platform in a usable form. You are renting a system rather than owning a website — which is precisely what makes renewal pricing stick across this whole category.
2. What is the renewal price, not the introductory one? Builders follow hosting's pattern: a cheap first term, usually requiring an annual prepayment, then a higher renewal.
3. What are the transaction fees if I sell? On an e-commerce plan the payment processing rate matters far more than the subscription. A percentage of every sale dwarfs a monthly fee once you have any volume — and it is the number least likely to appear in a comparison table.
4. Is the domain registered in my name, and can I transfer it away?

Finally, the proportion point: four referrals a month at $25 of credit is $100 against your own bill — genuinely useful if you are a designer or agency putting several clients on the platform, and close to irrelevant for an individual with one site. The cap tells you who the programme is for.
