How to Use a Groww Referral Code

Check if you can refer

Open Refer & earn in the Groww app. No 'Share invite link' option means you are not in the eligible group.

Share from the app only

Referrals do not attribute through the website. The friend must open your link and sign up in the app.

Friend completes activation

They must finish the full account opening process. A PAN already registered with Groww earns nothing.

Referrer is paid

The cash reward lands in your Groww balance. Your own stocks account must be active. The referee receives nothing.

Groww is an Indian investing platform covering stocks, mutual funds, IPOs, gold and fixed deposits. Its refer-and-earn program has changed materially: exchange regulations mean referred users are no longer eligible for a signup reward, and only the referrer is paid.

If you are searching for a Groww referral code hoping for a signup bonus, the honest answer is that there is not one. Groww has published a regulatory notice stating that for signups after 20 May, the referred user is not eligible for rewards under exchange regulations. The referrer continues to be paid. Groww has said a new program will follow, but as of now the offer is one-sided.

That makes most of what you will read elsewhere wrong. Pages advertising ₹101, ₹200 or ₹10,000 for new users are describing older campaigns or, in some cases, a completely different bill-payment product.

Two further conditions catch people out. Referrals are invite-only — Groww selects which users see the 'Refer & earn' screen based on its own criteria, so if you do not see a 'Share invite link' option, you cannot refer. And the program works only through the app, not the website: a link opened on desktop will not attribute the referral.

For the referrer, the reward is credited to the Groww balance once the referred person completes account opening and activation, and your own stocks account must be active to receive it. No reward is paid if the new user's PAN is already registered with Groww.
