We are a referral program discovery platform where users can explore referral offers, publish referral codes and links, create public profiles, earn GiveRefer coins and rewards, and interact with listings. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use our website, applications, extension, and connected services.

2.1 Personal Information You Provide

• Account details, such as your name and email address.
• Login and authentication data, including encrypted credentials and account security metadata.
• Profile information you choose to publish on GiveRefer.
• Referral codes, referral links, and listing submissions you post on the platform.
• Messages and support requests you send to us.

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

• IP address, approximate location derived from IP, browser type, operating system, and device information.
• Page views, clicks, referring URLs, session duration, and feature usage analytics.
• Cookies, local storage data, and similar identifiers used to remember preferences and session state.
• Referral click tracking data to measure referral listing performance and prevent abuse.

2.3 Extension Data

Our Chrome Extension may access limited browser and page context data necessary to show referral information, improve extension functionality, and remember settings. We do not intentionally collect unrelated browsing content beyond what is required to provide extension features.

3. How We Use Information

We process information for legitimate business and service purposes, including to:

• Operate, maintain, and secure GiveRefer accounts and platform features.
• Display referral codes, referral links, and profile pages based on user submissions.
• Personalize and improve referral recommendations and user experience.
• Detect fraud, spam, policy violations, and suspicious account behavior.
• Send service-related communications such as account notices, security alerts, and policy updates.
• Improve ReferralGPT response quality using public listing context and platform performance signals.

4. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

GiveRefer uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, understand usage, and improve performance.

• Essential cookies: support login sessions, navigation, and security.
• Analytics technologies: help us understand visits, engagement, and feature performance.
• Referral click tracking: measures outbound referral interactions, detects misuse, and improves listing quality.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect website functionality.

5. Referral Links & Third-Party Websites

GiveRefer lists referral opportunities and may link you to external platforms, merchants, and partner websites. When you click a third-party referral link, your activity is governed by that external service's terms and privacy policy, not GiveRefer's policy.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may share data in the following circumstances:

• Service providers: with hosting, infrastructure, analytics, and communication vendors that process data for us.
• Legal compliance: when required by law, court order, or valid regulatory request.
• Safety and rights protection: to investigate abuse, enforce our terms, and protect users or GiveRefer.
• Business transfers: during a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or asset transfer, subject to appropriate safeguards.

7. Payments & Gift Card Purchases

When you purchase a gift card on GiveRefer using a combination of GiveRefer Coins and cash, the cash portion is processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited on behalf of Go Veg Go Green Club Pvt Ltd (the entity operating GiveRefer). Voucher issuance is handled by our partner Hubble.

What is shared with each processor:

• Razorpay: your name, email, phone number, the order amount, and your payment instrument details (card / UPI / bank), which you enter directly into Razorpay's checkout interface. GiveRefer does not store or have access to your card number, CVV, UPI PIN, or bank credentials.
• Hubble: your name, email, phone number, and the brand / amount of the voucher being purchased. These are required to issue and deliver the gift card.

Razorpay is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified. Its handling of your payment data is governed by Razorpay's own privacy policy, available on their website. Refund eligibility and timelines are described in our Refund Policy.

We retain order metadata (order ID, amount, status, timestamps) for accounting, tax, and dispute-resolution purposes for as long as required by Indian law. Voucher codes are stored encrypted at rest.

8. Data Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including providing services, maintaining legal records, resolving disputes, and enforcing agreements. Retention duration depends on account status, legal obligations, and operational requirements.

9. User Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

• Access or update your account and profile information.
• Request deletion of your account or certain personal data.
• Opt out of non-essential marketing or promotional emails.
• Request clarification about how your data is processed.

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect data, including access controls, secure infrastructure practices, and monitoring tools. No system is 100% secure, but we continuously work to improve our defenses against unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.

11. Children's Privacy

GiveRefer is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

12. Chrome Extension Privacy

When you use the GiveRefer Chrome Extension, we may process:

• Extension usage events (for example, when features are enabled or clicked).
• Limited page metadata or URL context required to match and display relevant referral opportunities.
• Basic technical diagnostics for reliability, bug fixes, and abuse prevention.

Important: Extension data access is limited to what is reasonably necessary for extension functionality. We do not intentionally collect private page content unrelated to GiveRefer features.

13. ReferralGPT (ChatGPT GPT Store Bot) Privacy

ReferralGPT helps users discover referral opportunities through conversational prompts. By using ReferralGPT:

• Your queries may be processed by OpenAI under OpenAI's applicable policies and terms.
• Recommendations may rely on public GiveRefer referral listings and platform metadata.
• Do not include sensitive personal information in prompts unless necessary.

14. GiveRefer Genie (AI Chat Assistant) Privacy

GiveRefer Genie is the AI chat assistant available on our website. It answers questions about referral offers, brands, and how GiveRefer works. When you chat with Genie:

• Your messages are processed by Anthropic. Genie is powered by Anthropic's Claude models. The text you type (and the conversation context needed to answer it) is sent to Anthropic's API and handled under Anthropic's commercial terms. Under those terms, API data is not used to train Anthropic's models by default.
• We store chat transcripts. Conversations and messages are saved on GiveRefer's servers to provide conversation history, improve answer quality, measure usage, and prevent abuse. Guest conversations are linked to a browser session; if you are logged in, conversations are linked to your account.
• Logged-in account context. If you are logged in and ask Genie about your own coins or referral codes, the relevant account details (nickname, coin balance, your shared codes and their usage counts) are included in the request to Anthropic so Genie can answer. Genie can never access another member's account data.
• Feedback. If you rate a Genie reply (👍/👎), we store that rating with the reply to improve the assistant.
• Do not share sensitive data. Genie does not need passwords, OTPs, payment details, or government IDs — please never type them into the chat.

Genie's answers are AI-generated and may contain mistakes; always verify referral codes and reward details on the linked store page. Chat transcripts are retained in line with Section 8 (Data Retention); you may request deletion of your conversations via the contact details below.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product changes, legal requirements, or improved privacy practices. We will publish the revised version on this page and update the effective date. Continued use of GiveRefer after updates means you acknowledge the revised policy.
