Why Choose Prolific?

Not always active

Prolific runs this "occasionally," not as a standing program.

Paid on a study-completion threshold

Your friend must complete a minimum number of studies, which varies by campaign.

Separate researcher referral program exists too

Researchers get credit for referring other researchers, a different scheme entirely.

About Prolific

Prolific occasionally runs a paid referral program: refer a friend, and once they complete a minimum number of studies, your reward pays out automatically.

Prolific connects researchers with paid participants for online studies.

Its participant referral program is not always running -- Prolific describes it as a paid program it runs "occasionally" to recruit participants who meet specific eligibility criteria. When active, a reward is paid automatically once your referred friend is marked as a Successful referral, which requires them to complete a minimum number of studies that varies by campaign and is shown on the referral page only while a program is live. This is separate from Prolific's researcher-side referral program, which offers researchers credit for referring other researchers.
