TopCashback UK Referral Code

TopCashback's UK programme is far more forgiving than its American one, and the reason is a single number almost nobody quotes: the window is three years, not six months.

TopCashback's UK programme — Tell a Friend — pays you once the member you referred has earned £10 of confirmed cashback. The important and rarely mentioned detail is how long they have to do it: three years from joining.

That makes this the most patient referral programme in the whole cashback category. The US arm of the same brand allows 180 days. If you referred someone to TopCashback UK a year ago and nothing happened, the referral is very probably still live rather than expired, and a single decent purchase from them will still pay you. Almost nobody knows this, and a lot of people write these off long before they need to.

The condition that does bite is what counts toward the £10. Confirmed cashback means the retailer has approved it and it has passed the return window. And the sign-up bonus your friend received explicitly does not count toward the £10 threshold — nor do New Member Deals or cashback from TopCashback's list of excluded merchants. So a friend whose account shows £15 made up of a welcome bonus and a New Member Deal has not triggered anything.

The practical version: they need £10 of ordinary cashback from ordinary shopping. That is one reasonable purchase at most retailers, and they have three years to make it.

One further detail, published by TopCashback and by nobody else: the Tell a Friend Bonus can be withdrawn via BACS payment only. You cannot take it as one of the gift cards TopCashback normally offers, and you cannot take the usual gift-card uplift on it. If you were planning to convert your bonus into a boosted Amazon or supermarket card, that route is closed for this particular balance.

The bonus amount itself is republished monthly, so treat any specific figure — here or anywhere — as this month's rather than the programme's.

Note that TopCashback UK and TopCashback US are separate properties with different rules. TopCashback and Quidco are also separate companies: their proposed merger was abandoned in 2019 after the Competition and Markets Authority warned it would likely reduce cashback rates for shoppers.
