Two things make it different from almost every other carrier programme. First, rewards run three levels deep — you earn not only on the people you refer but on the people they refer. Second, your earnings depend on your own plan, not on the plan of the person you referred, so upgrading your own line changes what every future referral is worth.
The gates are strict. You must be on a paid plan in good standing, and it must have been active for at least 90 days; if you joined a group you need 90 days in that group too. Zero plans are not eligible at all. A referral code carries a limit of 10 total referrals, and you may earn no more than $250 worth of Points a year, resetting on the anniversary of your account rather than on 1 January.
You cannot use your own code, and the referrer and referee cannot be on the same account, such as a group plan. Helium reserves the right to withhold, adjust or revoke Cloud Points where it suspects fraud or manipulation.
