Q: How long do I have to make a qualifying deposit?

Q: Are there any conditions after I receive the bonus?

For taxable accounts, you must maintain the net deposit amount, less any market losses, at Schwab for at least one year or Schwab may charge back the bonus. The bonus is reported on Form 1099-INT for taxable accounts, and any taxes are your responsibility.

An existing Schwab client logs in and refers you through the refer-a-friend program, giving you a referral code or enrollment link.

Open an eligible account and enroll

Become a new Schwab client by opening an eligible retail brokerage account or IRA and enrolling in the Referral Offer. You must be new to Schwab, other than a Stock Plan Services account.

Make a qualifying net deposit

Deposit at least $25,000 in new-to-Schwab cash or securities into the enrolled account within 45 days. Larger net deposits unlock the $300, $500, or $1,000 tiers.

Receive your Bonus Award

Schwab reads your net deposits at the 45 day mark and credits the bonus to your enrolled account about 1 to 2 weeks later.
