myHQ's "Win Gifts Worth ₹14,000" is the price tag on the single most expensive item in a list of possible rewards, and it is a manufacturer's list price at that.

Two things on this page are worth more than the headline. The headline itself is worth the least.

What the reward actually is.

"Win Gifts Worth ₹14,000" is not the reward. It is the price tag on the most expensive item in a list of possible rewards. The list runs: Amazon gift vouchers worth ₹750 or ₹2,000, a JBL Flip 3 Bluetooth speaker valued at ₹7,500, and Sony MDR-XB950B1 wireless headphones valued at ₹14,000. So the honest range is ₹750 to ₹14,000, and the ₹750 end is as much a part of the offer as the ₹14,000 end.

And the word "win" is doing work too. Available material describes referrals bringing you "closer to" prizes rather than earning a stated amount per referral — which is the language of tiers or a draw, not of a rate. Before you spend effort on this, establish which it is: how many referrals for which item, or is it a chance? Those are completely different propositions and no listing should blur them.

A reward denominated in a gadget is worth its street price, not its list price — and this generalises well beyond myHQ.

Consumer electronics are quoted at manufacturers' recommended prices in promotions and sold for less in shops — and the gap widens sharply once a model has been on sale for a few years. Both items named here are long-established models rather than current flagships, which is exactly where MRP and street price diverge most. So "worth ₹14,000" should be read as "a pair of headphones whose list price is ₹14,000" — and the way to value it is to look up what that specific model actually sells for today. That check takes a minute, and it applies to every prize-gadget promotion you will ever see, not just this one.

Compare it honestly against cash or a voucher. An Amazon voucher of ₹2,000 is worth ₹2,000 to almost anybody. A speaker is worth its resale value to someone who does not want a speaker — which, for used consumer audio, is a fraction of even its street price. If you are offered a choice between a voucher and a gadget of a nominally higher value, work out the street price of the gadget and ask whether you actually want it. Frequently the smaller voucher is the better reward.

Who owns the marketplace, and who it works for.

myHQ presents itself as a booking platform across many coworking spaces — the value of such a platform is that it is meant to be looking at the whole market on your behalf. So its commercial relationships are directly relevant to how you read its recommendations:

• In April 2022, ANAROCK — the real-estate services group chaired by Anuj Puri — acquired a 75% stake in myHQ in a cash-and-stock deal reported at around ₹125 crore. The legal entity is now MyHQ Anarock Private Limited. myHQ has continued to operate under its own brand.
• In August 2024, myHQ became WeWork India's exclusive technology, marketing and sales partner.

That second fact is the one to hold on to. A marketplace that is also the exclusive sales partner of one large operator in the market it lists is not a neutral index of that market. This is not an accusation of anything — such partnerships are ordinary and are usually disclosed — it is a reason to do what you should do with any aggregator: check a shortlisted space against the operator's own website and against at least one other source before signing. The same question applies to travel intermediaries and market-data providers generally: whose interest does your source serve?

And in fairness to the format: for flexible workspace specifically, a booking platform genuinely solves a real problem — day passes and short commitments are hard to price and compare, and having them in one place is useful. The advice is not to avoid it. It is to know what it is.
