RedBus Referral Code

redBus's referral pays on travel rather than on booking, which makes it the slowest-settling program on this site — and the credit it eventually pays has an expiry date on it.

redBus credits ₹100 to your wallet for a successful referral, and the timing is the part nobody explains. You are paid after your friend has completed their journey — not when they book. Bus tickets are routinely booked weeks in advance, so a referral made in early March for a trip at the end of April settles at the end of April. Within about 48 working hours of the journey completing, the credit appears. Until then there is nothing to see, and people reasonably conclude the referral failed.

Your friend's ticket must be worth at least ₹400 for the referral to qualify. Below that it does not count, however genuine the booking.

The second omission is an expiry. The reward arrives as offer cash in your redBus wallet, and that offer cash is valid for a limited window from the date it is credited — sources put it between three and six months. Combine the two facts and there is a real trap: you wait six weeks for a friend to travel, the credit finally lands, you forget about it because you were not expecting it, and it expires before your next trip. If you are referring people, note when the credit arrives and use it.

The cap is ₹1,000, which works out at ten successful referrals.

Two things worth separating, because this page previously ran them together. The referral gives your friend a signup benefit and gives you ₹100 after their journey. The FIRST coupon — around 10% off up to ₹150 plus 10% cashback up to ₹100 on a first transaction above ₹200 — is a separate new-user promotion, not a referral reward. Your friend may well be able to use both, but they are different mechanisms with different conditions, and quoting the coupon's numbers as the referral's is where most of the confusion on this query comes from.
