The reward here is unusual for the right reason: a prepaid Visa card spends anywhere. But the term that decides a mattress purchase is the trial, and it is not the number of nights.

⚠️ This project has spent a great many pages explaining why a reward is worth less than its face value — store credit at a shop you may not revisit, wallet balances, platform coins with no published rate, scratch cards whose average is unstated, gadgets priced at list, gigabytes of storage, litres of diesel. ✅ A prepaid Visa card is none of those. It spends more or less anywhere cards are taken, which makes it close to cash, and that is rare enough here to be worth saying plainly.

⚠️ Two ordinary caveats apply to any prepaid card, and it is worth checking them rather than assuming: does it expire, and are there dormancy or maintenance fees that erode the balance if it sits unused? ✅ Spend it promptly and neither question arises.

⚠️ Note also the asymmetry, which runs the usual way: the referrer gets money, the referred person gets a discount off a large purchase. ✅ On a mattress costing well over $100 that discount is real value — but it is only value if they were buying a mattress. Nobody buys a mattress because a friend sent them $100 off one.

✅ WHICH BRINGS US TO THE TERM THAT ACTUALLY DECIDES A MATTRESS PURCHASE: THE TRIAL.

Saatva publishes a 365-night home trial. ⚠️ A year is generous, and the number of nights is also the least important part of the term.

✅ HERE IS WHAT TO READ INSTEAD, AND IT APPLIES TO EVERY MATTRESS BRAND:
1. ⚠️ IS THERE A MINIMUM BREAK-IN PERIOD BEFORE YOU MAY RETURN? ✅ Most brands require roughly 30 nights, and the requirement is reasonable — it genuinely takes weeks to adapt to a new sleeping surface, and a mattress judged on night three is judged unfairly. ⚠️ But it means a "100-night trial" is really a window of about seventy nights.
2. ⚠️ WHAT DOES A RETURN COST? ✅ This is where trials differ most. Ask whether collection is free, whether there is a return or processing fee, and whether the original delivery charge is refunded. ⚠️ A "risk-free" trial with a collection fee is not risk-free.
3. ⚠️ MUST YOU KEEP THE PACKAGING? Some brands require it; many people discard it on day one.
4. ✅ IS IT A REFUND OR AN EXCHANGE? Some trials permit one comfort exchange rather than money back, which is a materially different promise.
5. ⚠️ HOW LONG DOES THE REFUND TAKE, AND WHAT TRIGGERS IT — collection, or inspection after collection?

✅ AND THE QUESTION EVERYBODY ASKS: WHAT HAPPENS TO A RETURNED MATTRESS?

Most reputable companies do not resell them. ✅ The mattress is collected and either DONATED to a charity or NGO, or RECYCLED — broken down for materials that end up in other furnishings, such as rebound carpet padding. ⚠️ It is not universal: some returns are repackaged and resold at a discount, some US states prohibit reselling returned mattresses altogether, and states that permit it require a label meeting federal returned-mattress law.

✅ This also explains why long trials are commercially possible: returns are genuinely uncommon. A company offering a year is making an educated bet that almost nobody will take it up — ⚠️ which is not cynicism, it is simply how the economics work, and it is a good reason not to let trial length alone decide a purchase.

⚠️ ONE PRODUCT NOTE THAT IS GENUINELY DISTINCTIVE. Saatva is known for delivering mattresses UNCOMPRESSED, rather than vacuum-packed into a box. ✅ That has real consequences worth knowing:
• ✅ There is no expansion period and no off-gassing wait — a boxed mattress typically needs hours to days to reach full shape, and may smell initially.
• ✅ It generally means in-room delivery rather than a box left at the door, which matters a great deal for anyone who cannot manoeuvre a heavy item upstairs alone.
• ⚠️ But it constrains delivery scheduling, and returns are a collection rather than something you can re-box yourself.

⚠️ Finally, a note on our own page. One of its feature bullets read: "Manage your money on Saatva with bank-grade security and instant transactions." ✅ That is financial-app boilerplate, and this project has now found the same sentence on a lighting retailer, a Mumbai rental platform and a property crowdfunding site. On a mattress company it is simply nonsense, and wherever it appears it means the page was generated rather than checked.
