Yieldstreet Referral Code
Yieldstreet's reward appears as $25, $50 and $100 in one record — and in 2023 the SEC charged it with failing to disclose a key risk to investors
Yieldstreet is a US platform offering access to alternative investments such as private credit, real estate and other asset-backed offerings, primarily to accredited investors.
Genie Says
Our Yieldstreet record gave three different reward figures — $25, $50 and $100 — and claimed "no limit" against its own stated $2,000 quarterly cap, with a four-figure minimum investment the real condition throughout. But the material omission was a settled SEC action: in September 2023 the regulator announced charges against Yieldstreet and its adviser subsidiary for failing to disclose critical information in a $14.5 million asset-backed offering financing the deconstruction of a retired ship. The ship was the collateral, and Yieldstreet knew of red flags — other vessels securing similar loans from the same borrower had been deconstructed without notice or payment, with tracking deactivated — yet did not disclose the heightened risk it could not seize it. It paid over $1.9 million without admitting or denying, with a separate reported $6.2 million investor settlement. Alternative investments are illiquid with no secondary market, target returns are plans not contracts, and "asset-backed" means nothing until you know the asset can be reached.

How to Use a Yieldstreet Referral Code
Read the 2023 SEC order before anything else
A settled action over failing to disclose the heightened risk that collateral could not be seized. Public, settled, and material to anyone you would refer.
Confirm the actual reward figure
Our record said $25, $50 and $100, and claimed "no limit" against its own $2,000 quarterly cap. Check the platform.
Assume the money is locked
Most offerings run a defined term with no secondary market. You cannot change your mind, so size the investment on that basis.
Ask what secures the loan, and whether it can be reached
"Asset-backed" means nothing until you know where the asset is, who can seize it, and what enforcing that security would involve.
Reward Details
- Your Reward
- Our record gave three figures — $25 in the title, $50 in one FAQ, $100 in the introduction. Confirm the current amount on the platform; the mechanism is a reward on an invited person opening an account and investing a substantial minimum within a window.
- Referrer Reward
- Described as up to $100 per qualifying new account, subject to a cap of $2,000 per calendar quarter — while another FAQ in the same record claimed there was "no limit".
- Minimum Purchase
- A four-figure minimum investment is the real condition in every version of the terms — our record describes at least $1,000 within 60 days.
- Validity
- A time window from account opening, described in our record as 60 days.
- Available In
- USA
- Referral Limit
- $2,000 per calendar quarter, per our own introduction — which our own FAQ contradicted.
- Payout Time
- After the invited person's qualifying investment.
- Eligibility
- US only, and our record notes residents of New York and Hawaii are excluded. Much of this market is restricted to accredited investors. Note the settled September 2023 SEC action described on this page.
Why Choose Yieldstreet?
Over failing to disclose critical information in a $14.5m offering secured on a ship. Yieldstreet paid more than $1.9m without admitting or denying the findings.
Reports that other vessels securing similar loans from the same borrower had been deconstructed without notice or payment, with tracking systems deactivated.
$25 in the title, $50 in a FAQ, $100 in the introduction — plus a "no limit" claim contradicting our own stated $2,000 quarterly cap.
Most offerings lock money for a defined term with no secondary market. You cannot change your mind, which is the single biggest difference from ordinary investing.
About Yieldstreet
Our record gave three different reward figures. That is worth fixing — but it is not the reason this page needed rewriting. A settled SEC action from 2023 is.
The reward figures first, briefly, because our record gave three of them.
Our title said a "$25 sign-up bonus". Our FAQ said "$50 referral bonus when they open an account and invest at least $1,000 within 60 days". Our introduction said "$100 per Qualifying New Account, subject to a cap of $2,000 per calendar quarter". And another FAQ said there was "no limit", directly contradicting the cap in our own introduction.
Promotional terms on platforms like this change often, so rather than picking one figure and presenting it as settled, the honest position is the mechanism: a reward is paid when an invited person opens an account and invests a substantial minimum within a time window, and the total is capped per quarter. Confirm the current amount on the platform, and note that a four-figure minimum investment is the real condition in every version of it.
Now the thing that actually belongs on this page, and which our record omitted entirely.
In September 2023 the SEC announced a settled action against Yieldstreet and its registered investment adviser subsidiary for failing to disclose critical information to investors.
The facts, as set out by the regulator:
• In September 2019 Yieldstreet offered $14.5 million of asset-backed securities to finance a loan to a group of companies that would transport a retired ship and arrange its deconstruction.
• The ship was the collateral — Yieldstreet's right to it was the most important security behind the securities it sold.
• Yieldstreet was aware of red flags: reports from its own affiliates that other vessels securing similar loans from the same borrower had been deconstructed without notice or payment, sometimes with tracking systems deactivated so the ships could not be traced.
• It did not disclose to investors the heightened risk that it would be unable to seize the ship on a default.
• Without admitting or denying the findings, Yieldstreet consented to the order and paid more than $1.9 million in penalties, disgorgement and interest.
A separate settlement of around $6.2 million with investors in the same matter has been reported.
Why this belongs on a referral page rather than being left to a finance site.
Because a referral is a personal recommendation, and this is a company whose regulator concluded it had not told investors something material about the security behind their money. That is precisely the kind of fact a friend would want from you before, not after. It is settled, it is public, and it is a matter of record rather than allegation.
It is also not a reason to conclude the platform is worthless. Firms of every size have regulatory findings; what matters is what changed afterwards, and a prospective investor should ask exactly that. But the fact belongs in the conversation, and a page that advertised a $100 bounty while omitting it was not serving anybody.
Now the product, because alternative investments are unlike anything else in this category.
The four properties that define them, and they are all absent from a headline rate:
1. Illiquidity. Most offerings lock your money for a defined term, and there is generally no secondary market. You cannot change your mind. Assume the money is gone until the term ends, and size the investment accordingly.
2. The target return is a target. A projected yield is a plan, not a contract, and it is quoted before anything goes wrong.
3. The collateral is the whole story — which is exactly what the SEC matter was about. Ask what secures the loan, where it physically is, who can seize it, and what enforcing that security would actually involve. "Asset-backed" means nothing until you know whether the asset can be reached.
4. Eligibility is restricted. Much of this market is open only to accredited investors, and our record notes residents of New York and Hawaii are excluded from the referral programme.
And the sizing rule that should govern any referral here: a minimum investment in the low thousands, locked for years, in an asset class you cannot exit, is not somewhere to put money because a friend sent a link with $100 attached. If you refer anyone, refer someone who was already investing in this asset class — and send the four questions above with the link.
