The commission tier is earned by volume, not asked for: bring in more active traders and your own rate climbs. The advertised "up to 1,717 USDT" is a separate, capped bonus track — read it as a ceiling, not a typical outcome.

Every verified Bybit user starts the referral programme at a 20% commission rate on a referred trader's fees. That rate rises with quarterly activity: 25% after inviting 5 qualified referees within a quarter, and 30% once you reach 100 qualified referees or your invitees generate 15 million USDT in quarterly derivatives volume. Once earned, commission on a given referral runs for up to 365 days from their registration.

Separately from the commission, Bybit advertises invitation task rewards — deposit, trade and volume tasks each with their own maximum — that sum to a headline of up to 1,717 USDT, with a further up to 1,720 USDT available through additional invitation tasks. Treat the headline the way this project treats every summed-maximum figure in this cluster: it is what you get if every task is completed at its ceiling, not a typical or likely outcome. Identify the one task a genuinely new user would complete anyway — usually the first deposit — and size the offer around that.

A separate Card Referral track exists alongside the trading programme: the referrer earns 20 USDT per qualified invite, and the referred person gets a 10 USDT bonus, independent of trading commission. Bybit has also run a VIP-tier referral track offering up to $5,600, reported as of early March 2026 — treat any VIP-specific figure as tied to an account tier most users will not hold, not the standard offer.

Because the commission rises with your referrals' own activity, the incentive runs the same direction as everywhere else in this cluster: the more they trade, the more you earn, for up to a year per referral. That is worth naming plainly rather than treating as a neutral feature.

Commission is paid in crypto, which under India's VDA regime makes each payment an acquisition of a virtual digital asset: cost basis at receipt, a flat 30% plus 4% cess on disposal when converted, no loss offset against other crypto, other income or future years, 1% TDS per transfer under Section 194S, and an entry in Schedule VDA. As a foreign platform, holdings also engage Schedule FA, which has no minimum value exemption.
