The first thing worth saying is that this is not the Indian cashback site with almost the same name. They work differently and pay differently.

A distinction worth making before anything else: CashKarma is not CashKaro.

CashKarma — this store — is a rewards application paying points for completing surveys, watching videos and engaging with offers, redeemable for PayPal cash or gift cards. Its money comes from advertisers paying for completions.

CashKaro is a separate company: an Indian cashback platform, where the money comes from retailers paying affiliate commission on tracked purchases, part of which is passed back to the shopper.

The names are nearly identical and the products are not. Different countries, different revenue mechanisms, different failure modes, different terms. Anyone searching for one and landing on the other would draw entirely wrong conclusions — which is exactly why this page says so at the top rather than assuming it is obvious.

How to tell any two similarly-named services apart, since this recurs: look at where the money comes from. A cashback site is paid by retailers on purchases you make. A rewards app is paid by advertisers for actions you complete. That single question separates them faster than any feature comparison, and it also tells you how each will fail — a cashback claim fails when tracking breaks on a purchase; a rewards claim fails when an advertiser rejects a completion.

Now CashKarma itself.

It pays in points redeemable for PayPal cash or gift cards. This project has documented fifteen invented units and the instruction has never once been wrong: find the conversion rate before valuing anything. A points balance means nothing until you know what it converts to, and in every documented case the unit turned out smaller than it looked — OneCard's 2,500 points were ₹250 rather than ₹1,000; FeaturePoints runs at roughly 600 points to the dollar. Then the mechanism this whole batch describes, because it governs whether anything you earn arrives.

Payment runs you → the app → the offerwall network → the advertiser, and the advertiser sends the signal confirming your completion. The app cannot credit what the advertiser has not confirmed, and cannot compel it. That produces three states worth distinguishing: pending (tracked, awaiting approval), not credited (the signal never arrived, commonly through broken or blocked tracking, mismatched device data, or advertiser rejection), and reversed (credited and then clawed back). A balance showing in the app is not settled money.

The precautions follow directly: complete offers in one uninterrupted run, on one device, with no VPN, ad blocker or privacy browser active, without clearing cookies mid-flow, and screenshot the completion screen. That screenshot is the only evidence you will have if a reward does not arrive.

The offers worth the most care are the ones paying the most, as our Freecash page sets out: free trials requiring card details must be cancelled — diarise it the moment you sign up, since the reward is commonly less than one month's subscription and a forgotten cancellation turns a small gain into a real loss. That is the single commonest way people lose money on rewards apps. Game-milestone offers should be divided by the hours required before starting. Permission-heavy apps take data that is part of the price and appears nowhere in the reward figure.

Realistic expectation: pocket money. The money is real and comes from real advertisers, so the honest criticism is about rate rather than legitimacy — anyone valuing their time above roughly a dollar an hour should do something else.
