Hago's referral offer reads: earn $10 instantly when a friend uses your referral code, and they get $10 too. No trigger, threshold, cap, payout method or withdrawal terms are stated.

That does not make the offer false, but it is the shape of claim most worth checking. Start with the arithmetic: $10 to each side is a combined cost of $20 per signup. Hago is a free, ad-supported social gaming app, so for that to be sustainable the average new user would need to generate more than $20 of revenue — well above what advertising on casual mobile gaming typically returns per user. Businesses that pay $20 for a signup, such as banks, do so because the customer relationship is worth years of fees; an ad-supported game generally cannot make the same case.

That is an inference from the business model rather than a confirmed figure, but it points to where a large, unconditioned reward like this one is usually explained:

The "$10" may be an in-app currency rather than dollars. Coins, diamonds or gems with a nominal dollar label are common in social gaming, and are often spendable only on in-app gifts — which makes the reward a discount on the app's own products rather than money.

There may be a withdrawal threshold well above $10. This is the most common mechanism of this kind: a balance that cannot be withdrawn is not money, and a threshold set above what a realistic number of referrals produces means the reward is rarely, if ever, actually paid.

It may be tiered or promotional — a maximum available under conditions, presented as a flat rate.

Or it may require activity beyond signup: play time, spending, or verification.

Before treating $10 as real, it is worth confirming: whether the figure is dollars or an in-app currency with a dollar label; what the minimum withdrawal is and how it is paid; what exactly triggers the reward — an install, a registration, or ongoing activity; and whether there is a cap.

One thing about the product matters more than the reward: Hago combines casual games with open voice-chat rooms — a social platform with live audio between strangers. The ordinary safeguarding considerations apply, particularly for younger users: check the age rating, the moderation and reporting tools, and the privacy settings before recommending it to anyone, and especially before recommending it to a child.
