RentoMojo Referral Code
RentoMojo's reward is wallet credit, and the number that decides whether to rent at all is the breakeven month
RentoMojo rents furniture, appliances and electronics to households across major Indian cities on a monthly subscription, with delivery, installation and maintenance included and a refundable security deposit at onboarding.
Genie Says
RentoMojo's referral is wallet credit, not cash — reported inconsistently as ₹250 or ₹200, capped at ₹1,000 a month, so about ₹12,000 a year at most. Wallet credit is unusually useful here because it offsets instalments you are already paying, but it is worthless if you stop renting. The number that actually decides the question is the breakeven month: purchase price divided by monthly rental. Rent for fewer months than that and renting wins; rent longer and you have paid more than the item was worth without owning it. Set against that, renting genuinely buys you freedom from a poor resale market, included maintenance, and no upfront outlay. RentoMojo has filed a draft prospectus with SEBI, which makes its financials public.

How to Use a RentoMojo Referral Code
Divide purchase price by monthly rental
That gives the breakeven month. Rent for fewer months and renting wins; rent for longer and you have paid more than the item is worth without owning it.
Add the things the division misses
No resale problem, maintenance included, no large upfront payment. If you expect to move within a couple of years these can outweigh the breakeven.
Get the deposit terms in writing
Amount, what can be deducted, when it is returned. Photograph items on delivery — any dispute will be about their condition on return.
Diarise the breakeven month
Subscriptions do not stop by themselves. The failure mode is never revisiting the decision, not making it wrongly.

Why Choose RentoMojo?
Either way it is wallet credit, capped at ₹1,000 a month, which puts a firm ceiling of about ₹12,000 a year on the whole programme.
It offsets instalments you are already committed to paying. That makes it close to cash for a continuing customer — and worthless to anyone else.
Buying is cheaper eventually, always. What renting buys you is the absence of a resale problem, included maintenance, and no upfront outlay.
A draft prospectus with SEBI means you can read the financials of a company you are about to give a deposit to. Rare on this site.
About RentoMojo
Reported figures vary between ₹250 and ₹200. Either way it is wallet credit, and either way it is not the number that should decide whether renting is right for you.
The reward, and a disagreement in reported figures. Some material states a ₹250 wallet cash reward; other material states a ₹200 sign-up bonus and a ₹200 referral bonus for both sides. Available material also states a cap: a maximum of ₹1,000 in referral bonuses per month, and that you cannot refer yourself or a family member, and only people who have not used RentoMojo before qualify. Take the cap seriously — it is the only firm limit stated anywhere, and it means the programme is worth at most ₹12,000 a year even in the best case.
And note the word "wallet". This is RentoMojo wallet credit, not money. In fairness, wallet credit at a subscription service is more useful than most store credit — it offsets rental instalments you are already committed to paying, so if you are an ongoing customer it behaves close to cash. If you are not, it is worth nothing at all.
Now the part worth your attention, because it decides far more money than ₹250.
The breakeven month: divide the purchase price by the monthly rental.
That single division tells you how many months of renting cost the same as buying the thing outright. Rent for fewer months than that and renting wins. Rent for longer and you have paid more than the item was worth — and at the end you do not own it. Do this for every item, separately, because the ratio is wildly different between a mattress and a washing machine.
But the breakeven is not the whole answer, and this is where renting genuinely earns its place. Three things properly belong on the renting side of the ledger:
1. You are not carrying the resale problem. Used furniture and appliances in India sell for a small fraction of their price, if they sell at all — so "I own it at the end" is worth much less than the purchase price suggests. If you expect to move cities within a couple of years, this alone can outweigh a breakeven calculation.
2. Maintenance and repair are included. A four-year-old washing machine that fails is the owner's problem and the renter's phone call.
3. You avoid a large upfront payment. Which is worth something only if you would otherwise borrow to buy — and if you are comparing renting against an EMI, compare the total of all rental payments against the total of all EMI payments, interest included, not against the sticker price.
What belongs on the buying side is simpler: over a long enough horizon, buying is cheaper, always. Subscriptions do not stop by themselves. Set a date in your calendar to re-run the division at the point you cross the breakeven month — because the failure mode with any rental subscription is not choosing wrongly at the start; it is never revisiting the choice.
On the deposit, which is the other real number. RentoMojo's model is described as postpaid billing — charged after usage — with a small refundable security deposit taken at onboarding. "Small" is favourable compared with the multi-month deposits elsewhere in this category, but get the figure, the deduction terms and the return timeline in writing before delivery, and photograph items on arrival. The dispute, if one comes, will be about the condition of returned goods.
On the company. RentoMojo operates across Bangalore, Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune and Chennai, and reported 914 employees as at 30 April 2026. It raised a round of about ₹210 crore led by Edelweiss Discovery Fund, and has filed a draft red herring prospectus with SEBI seeking around ₹150 crore through a fresh issue of shares. Funding totals reported for the company differ between data providers — one puts the total at about $58.7 million across 19 rounds, another at about $112 million — so treat any single figure as a provider's estimate rather than a fact.
One genuinely useful consequence of that IPO filing, for a customer rather than an investor: a draft prospectus makes a private company's financials public. If you are about to hand a rental company a deposit and a year of subscription payments, being able to read its actual accounts is a real advantage — and it is one you do not have with most of the companies on this site.
