RummyBo advertised up to ₹35,000 per referral. Payment required the person you referred to complete their first five deposits, and the amount depended on how much they deposited. That is not a referral scheme.

RummyBo ran online cash rummy, and its referral offer was the most aggressive structure catalogued anywhere in this project. It deserves to be described precisely, because the shape of it recurs across offshore gambling sites long after any individual brand disappears.

The headline was up to ₹35,000 in "InstantCash" per referral, with the friend receiving up to ₹17,500 in "GameCash". The condition sat further down: you were paid when the person you referred registered with your code and completed their first five deposits, and the amount you received depended on how much they deposited. Alongside it ran a "300% welcome bonus up to ₹30,000" for the new player.

Every element of that is engineered to escalate deposits rather than to acquire a user. Five deposits, not one, means you have an ongoing incentive to keep encouraging someone through a funding sequence. Scaling the payout to deposit size means your interest is in them depositing more, not merely again. And a 300% match up to ₹30,000 is the standard mechanism for turning a small first deposit into a much larger balance that can only be released by playing through it — bonus money in this category is never withdrawable on its own terms.

The page carried two further tells. It contradicted itself, advertising ₹250 in one field and ₹35,000 in another. And it claimed the referral programme was "valid globally", which no Indian-facing cash rummy operation could sensibly say. Internal inconsistency of that kind is itself a signal about how much of the copy came from the operator's marketing rather than from its terms.

The legal position ends the matter. The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, assented 22 August 2025, prohibits online money games throughout India irrespective of skill or chance. Section 2 defines them as games played by paying fees or depositing money or other stakes with the expectation of winning, and separately defines "other stakes" to include credits, coins and tokens, real or virtual, recognised as convertible to money — which is what "InstantCash" and "GameCash" are. Section 5 prohibits offering, section 6 prohibits advertising, section 7 prohibits facilitating the payments, and sections 5 and 7 offences are cognizable and non-bailable. Section 9(2) sets the advertising penalty at up to two years' imprisonment or ₹50 lakh, or both. The Rules have been in force since 1 May 2026.

Two practical warnings remain useful. Offshore-facing cash rummy sites are markedly less predictable than domestic operators when a jurisdiction closes, so a balance is worth pursuing immediately and directly. And the recovery services that advertise around such sites are, as a rule, a second fraud aimed at the victims of the first.
