Ullu Referral Code

This page carried a fake personal review and an unevidenced reward promise. Both are gone. What follows is what the public record actually shows.

In July 2025 India's Ministry of Information and Broadcasting directed internet service providers to block public access to 25 OTT apps and websites, Ullu among them, and directed Google and Apple to delist them from their app stores.

The reported legal basis was serious violation of the Information Technology Act 2000 (particularly sections 67 and 67A), section 294 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023, and section 4 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act 1986. Press reporting indicates the ministry had written to the platforms in September 2024 instructing them to stop transmitting obscene material, and that the blocking orders followed in July 2025 when that did not happen. Reports further describe a pattern of content being edited or withdrawn in response to warnings and later re-uploaded unedited.

That is the public record as reported by mainstream Indian and international outlets, and it is stated here because India is the primary market for this site's readers. A reader in India is the person most directly affected by a blocking order, and a listing that omitted it would be omitting the single most important fact about the service.

This page does not describe ways to reach a service that authorities have directed to be blocked, and it does not encourage anyone to seek one. Whether the position has since changed through appeal, compliance or a later order is not something this review can confirm — if you believe it has, rely on an official source rather than on this page or any other third-party listing.

Separately, and independently of the legal position, two things in the source record were wrong on their own terms and have been removed.

First, it contained a fabricated first-person review. The old description opened "I recently explored the ULLU app, and I must say, its video content is truly impressive" — written in the voice of a person who does not exist, about an experience nobody had. A catalogue page is not a reviewer, and that text is deleted here on its own merits, not because of the blocking order.

Second, the referral promise had nothing behind it. The record claimed "instant rewards" and rewards "every time someone joins", while containing no reward amount, no cap, no qualifying condition, no payout method and not a single FAQ entry. That is not an offer described vaguely; it is an offer asserted with no content at all, and this page no longer repeats it.

One reassuring finding from the same check, worth recording because it bounds the problem: the other platforms named in the July 2025 order were searched for across this entire catalogue and none of them appear in it. This is an isolated listing rather than a systemic gap — one page to resolve, not a category.

The general lesson for any reader, which outlasts this particular case: a streaming service can be removed from app stores and blocked by order with no warning to its subscribers, and when that happens an annual subscription paid in advance is an unsecured claim on a company in a dispute with its regulator. This is the same principle applied to platform credit on page after page in this catalogue — prepaying a long subscription for a discount is a trade, and the thing you trade away is your ability to walk away.
