Venmo Referral Code
Both sides paid — but only from a bank or card
Venmo is PayPal's US peer-to-peer payments app. Its referral pays both sides once a new user sends $5 or more funded by a linked bank account or card, within 14 days of the referral link being created.
Genie Says
Venmo pays both sides when a referred user sends $5 or more funded by a bank account or card — a payment from their Venmo balance does not qualify — within 14 days of the referral link being created, not of signup. Limits are one reward per referee and ten per referrer, and Venmo's own terms ask that invitation links are not posted publicly.

How to Use a Venmo Referral Code
Generate the link when you share it
The 14-day clock starts from when the link is created, not when your friend signs up. An old link may already be expired.
Friend signs up through it

They send $5+ from a bank or card
Using Pay or Request. A payment funded by their Venmo balance does not count, however large it is.

Why Choose Venmo?
The qualifying $5 must be funded by a linked bank account or card. Paying a friend back out of money someone sent you completes nothing.
14 days from when the referral link was generated, not from signup. Forwarding an old link wastes the referral before your friend touches it.
Its terms prohibit distributing invitation links where the audience includes people who are not family or personal friends. Share yours privately — we would rather say so than pretend otherwise.
About Venmo
Venmo's referral looks simple and fails constantly, for two reasons that are written into the terms and published nowhere else: where the money comes from, and when the clock actually starts.
Venmo's refer-a-friend pays both sides, and the reward amount is set by the specific campaign your account is on — Venmo's terms state the value is defined in the notification you receive, and its current P2P referrals FAQ describes rewards of $5 with a limit of ten, while separate invite-only campaigns have run at higher figures. Any site quoting a single flat number is quoting one campaign.
The amount is not what determines whether you get paid. Two conditions do, and neither appears on the pages ranking for this query.
The first is the funding source. Your friend's qualifying payment must be at least $5 and it must be funded by a linked bank account or card. A payment made from their Venmo balance does not qualify. This is the classic failure: a new user joins, someone sends them money, they pay a friend back out of that balance, and nothing ever credits. The money moved, the referral did not.
The second is when the clock starts. The 14-day window runs from the date the referral link was created — not from when your friend signed up, and not from when they first opened the app. A link you generated three weeks ago and forwarded today is already dead. Generate a fresh link at the moment you share it.
The remaining rules are straightforward. There is a limit of one reward per referee and ten per referrer. Both parties need Venmo personal accounts in good standing — Business and Charity profiles are excluded from the program entirely. A qualifying referee is someone who has never had a Venmo account, or has never made a personal payment. Rewards are sent within fourteen days and can take up to thirty.
One thing we should tell you even though it costs us a listing. Venmo's terms say you must not publish or distribute your invitation link online, or anywhere the audience is likely to include people who are not your family or personal friends, and its FAQ repeats that you should never post it publicly in forums with people you do not know. That restriction covers posting a Venmo referral link on a public referral site, including this one. Share your Venmo link privately, with people you actually know. Every other page on this query is quietly ignoring a rule written by the brand it is describing.
