Bag2Bag books hotel rooms, on an hourly and short-stay basis — not rides. It is not a transport service, and the distinction matters because it changes what a reader should be checking before using it.

The referral is ₹100 in credit points, not ₹100 in money. That distinction runs through this entire project and it is the one most consistently glossed over: credit, discount, percentage and cash are four different things. Credit is worth its face value only to someone who will definitely spend it with that company, and it is worth nothing at all if it expires unused — which is the outcome the instrument is designed to make likely.

So the three questions that decide what ₹100 of Indian travel credit is actually worth, none of which appear in any headline. This project has documented the pattern across the category — GoCash, Zingcash, Fab credits and OYO Rupee are one instrument under four names:

The partial-redemption cap. What share of a booking may the credit pay? This is the term that matters most and is stated least.
The expiry.
The minimum booking value at which it can be used at all.

And the arithmetic that follows: reward ÷ (booking value × cap) = the number of bookings needed to consume it. Low-ticket categories are where a cap hurts most, and hourly hotel bookings are low-ticket by definition — ₹100 of credit with a 10% cap on ₹800 bookings takes more than twelve stays to use. At that point it is not a ₹100 reward in any meaningful sense.

Now the product itself, which is a legitimate answer to a real mismatch.

The standard hotel night — check in at two, check out at eleven — is a convention rather than a necessity, and it prices short stays badly: someone needing a room for four hours pays for twenty-one. Hourly booking fixes that from both sides. You pay for the hours you use, and the hotel can sell the same room more than once in a day, earning twice from an asset it otherwise sells once. The genuine use cases are ordinary travel needs: a long layover, a delayed overnight train, a few hours between an early arrival and an afternoon meeting, somewhere to shower and work between flights. It is worth saying that plainly, because hourly hotel booking carries an unfair reputation in India and the service exists because the night is simply the wrong unit for a great many journeys.

What to check before booking, and the first one is the most important:

The property's ID policy, and whether local couples are accepted. Policies vary by property and by city, and being refused at reception after paying is the commonest failure in this category. Confirm the specific property's stated policy at booking rather than assuming the platform's general position applies.
When the block starts — a fixed slot or from your arrival — which matters if you are delayed, and delays are why many people book these.
What overrunning costs, and whether extension is possible at all, since the room may be sold immediately afterwards.
Cancellation terms, which on short bookings are frequently stricter because the hotel has less time to resell.
Whether the rate includes taxes. Compare the payable total, not the advertised hourly rate.

And on the property rather than the platform: read recent reviews for that specific hotel. Hourly-let properties turn over guests more often, which shows in housekeeping standards faster than in a nightly hotel — so recency matters more here than volume.
