Scooters in particular solve a different problem from cars — the two-kilometre trip that is tedious to walk and absurd to drive — and having both available in one app means choosing by journey rather than by which app you happen to have.

**Where multi-service apps get complicated**, and it is worth knowing in advance: **support and liability differ by service.** A dispute about a car journey, a scooter that failed mid-ride, and a delivery that never arrived are three different processes, frequently with different teams and different resolution routes, even inside one app. And **micromobility carries physical risk that ride-hailing does not** — helmet rules, pavement-riding restrictions and parking regulations vary sharply between cities and are enforced against the rider, not the platform. Anyone using scooters in an unfamiliar city should check local rules before unlocking one, because ignorance is not a defence and fines are levied on the individual.
