KuCoin Referral Code

The commission tier moves with how active your referrals are, reassessed every month. The access question is separate, and permanent: KuCoin's operating entity cannot serve US customers.

KuCoin runs a standard referral programme open to every verified user, with no application required. When someone you refer completes KYC verification, you earn 25% commission on their trading fees from that moment through the end of the calendar month. On the first of each following month, the system reassesses your performance from the prior month and adjusts your commission rate accordingly, up to a ceiling of 35%. Commission is credited daily and runs across spot, futures, margin and ETF markets.

A separate, simpler "Refer Friends & Earn Cash" mechanic exists alongside the tiered commission for users who want a flatter reward. KuCoin also runs an Affiliate Program reserved for content creators and organisations with at least 5,000 social followers or a 500-plus member community, paying up to 60% commission with second-tier payouts from sub-invitees — a different, application-based track from the standard referral link.

Read the commission rate as information about the customer it is priced to recruit: a rising, activity-linked structure rewards bringing in traders who keep trading, not a single sign-up. The more your referrals trade, the higher your own tier climbs the following month.

KuCoin's operating entity, Peken Global Limited, pleaded guilty to unlicensed money transmission on 28 January 2025 and paid over $297.4 million. Following a March 2026 CFTC order, that entity is permanently barred from the US market — a bar that has moved from temporary to permanent since it was first reported. This is an access question, separate from the referral mechanics: a US resident cannot use KuCoin regardless of the commission rate on offer.

Commission is paid in crypto, which under India's VDA regime makes each payment an acquisition of a virtual digital asset: cost basis at receipt, taxable disposal at a flat 30% plus 4% cess on conversion, no loss offset against other crypto, other income or future years, 1% TDS per transfer under Section 194S, and an entry in Schedule VDA. As a foreign platform, holdings also engage Schedule FA, which carries no minimum value exemption.
