ExtraPe is not a company whose product you use; it is a directory of other companies' referral offers. Understanding that changes what its own referral is, and it is worth explaining because the two layers get confused constantly.

ExtraPe is a referral aggregator. It collects referral programmes from other companies — banks, apps, exchanges, retailers — and lists them in one place so people can find codes and offers. It is free to use, and anyone can sign up.

On top of that, it runs a referral layer of its own: refer people to ExtraPe, and you earn a share of what they subsequently earn through the platform.

That second layer is worth pulling apart, because it is where the confusion lives. There are two different things happening and they pay differently. Using a listed offer means going to a third company, signing up there, and being paid by that company under its terms — ExtraPe is the directory, not the payer. Referring someone to ExtraPe itself means earning from their activity on the aggregator, which is a percentage of a percentage: your share of their share of what the underlying companies pay out.

Two consequences follow. First, the economics get thin fast. A cut of someone else's cut of a third party's referral reward is a small number unless the person you refer is unusually active. Second, and more useful: your earnings from this layer depend entirely on whether the person you referred actually completes referrals at other companies. Signing them up to the directory achieves nothing on its own.

The honest framing for anyone comparing these sites, ours included: an aggregator adds value when it tells you something about an offer that the offer's own page does not — which conditions void it, whether the figure is current, whether the programme still exists. It adds nothing when it simply republishes a number. Judge any referral listing site, this one included, on whether the entries are accurate and current rather than on how many of them there are.

Before relying on any code from any aggregator, check it against the source company's own terms. Referral figures go stale faster than listing sites update, which is the single most common failure across this entire category.
