Qureka Referral Code

Most gaming apps on this site are now prohibited in India. Qureka is the case that needs care rather than a copy-paste ban notice, because the Act turns on whether you pay to play — and a free-entry quiz does not.

Qureka is a live quiz app: timed general knowledge rounds, exam-preparation quizzes, and contests available in English, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Bengali and Telugu, with prizes for answering correctly. Its referral offer was small — around ₹10 in Paytm cash — and the honest thing to say is that the referral is not why this page is interesting.

What makes it worth reading is the legal line, because Qureka is the clearest example on this site of a game that survives a ban most people describe far too broadly.

India's Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 is routinely reported as banning "online gaming". It does not. Section 2 defines an "online money game" as one played by paying fees, or depositing money or other stakes, with the expectation of winning monetary or other enrichment — and it applies irrespective of whether the game is based on skill, chance or both. The Act separately defines "other stakes" to include credits, coins, tokens or objects, real or virtual, where they are recognised as equivalent or convertible to money and purchased directly or indirectly in relation to the game.

Both limbs of that definition require the player to put something in. A quiz that charges nothing to enter, and funds prizes from advertising rather than from entry fees, does not meet it. Free-to-play games with no monetary stake fall outside the Act, which expressly sets out to promote online social games and e-sports rather than to eliminate them. So the fact that Qureka pays cash prizes is not, by itself, the thing that matters — the fact that you do not pay to enter is.

Two qualifications belong here, and this page is not going to omit them to make a cleaner story.

The first is that the classification is not yours to make, or ours. The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Rules, 2026, in force since 1 May 2026, established the Online Gaming Authority of India, which can determine whether a particular game is an online money game by examining its entry fees, staking mechanism, expectation of winnings and revenue model. That last criterion is deliberately broad. Any app in this space is subject to a determination it does not control.

The second is that the answer changes the moment the product does. If paid entry, purchasable coins convertible to prize value, or any deposit appears in the app, the analysis flips — and the "other stakes" limb means introducing a purchasable in-app currency would be enough. Check what the app is asking of you today rather than relying on what was true when this was written.

A note on sources. Searches for this app return a number of unaffiliated sites at lookalike domains publishing "real cash games" content about it. Those are affiliate pages, not the operator, and their descriptions of prizes and mechanics should not be treated as terms. Use the app itself.
